Who We Are ...
The Reformed Community Church of Ithaca is committed
to the teachings of the Holy Bible. For many years we have been
spreading the gospel among our neighbors.
Our history and vision are best described by considering the meaning of our name. The word "Reformed" aligns us with an orthodox Protestant tradition going back many centuries in church history. We value the historic creeds and confessions of our forefathers in the faith. Our reforming continues as we seek to understand what the Bible teaches for the world today. The word "Community" is consistent with our own history and vision for the future. "Go ye therefore and teach all nations,” Jesus said. In obedience, we try to reach far and wide and across ethnic and social class boundaries.
God is, in short, teaching us to live in community with one another.
The word "Church" refers to a group of people whom Christ “calls out” to be an extension of his Kingdom in various parts of the world. We share in Christ's victory as his church fills the earth. Finally, there is the word “Ithaca.” We are committed to the move of God in our own City of Ithaca, New York. We endeavor to teach the basics of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. What does losing your life for Christ's sake mean in your role as a husband?....as a mother?....as a child?....as a citizen of Ithaca?....as a Christian in today’s world?
We hope that you are blessed by this website.
